In 2002 Almost Famous was launched as the creative brainchild of duo Juliana Oei and her business partner Desmond Wong. Almost Famous is a womenswear brand focusing on flattering the female body and making women feel fantastic both day and night. The brand started with a debut jeans range originally called Twins which offered a range of denim carrying Juliana’s signature careful detailing using lace, print, semi precious stones and beading. The range proved popular and quickly evolved into the complete Almost Famous collections we have today.
Following the success of the brand in the UK, in 2006 Almost Famous launched its first stand alone store situated in the heart of London’s Fitzrovia. The store showcases the full Almost Famous range including ready-to-wear shoes, accessories and jewellery. This was shortly followed in 2007 with an on-line store.
Since 2002 the brand has progressed a long way in developing its own unique style with the mid-to-high level Almost Famous Green label collection, and building up an impressive list of stockists across the UK, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Spain, Russia and Greece.
Each collection offers over 150 key pieces designed to provide absolutely everything you need for each season including striking dresses, feminine skirts, sophisticated coats and jackets, the AF signature denim range and trousers pretty. A range of fabulous co-ordinating accessories including shoes, belts, jewellery and sunglasses.
Spring/Summer 2008 saw the successful launch of ‘The Black Label’ at London Fashion Week; an elegant and dramatic collection that positions itself as a designer bridge collection that is sold to the luxury end of the market. Every collection launched by Almost Famous offers the consumer a touch of luxury at an affordable price point. This was successfully received by high end boutiques across the UK and Internationally.
Almost Famous now looks to the future at the possibility of opening more stand alone stores, and also shop/in shops and concessions. Alongside this, the brand also aims to expand into other fashion capitals such as Paris, New York and Shanghai.
